| | | | | | | | | RE: | Resolution No. R2025-82 Approving and Authorizing a Change Order to the Contract with Prolime Corporation for Loading, Hauling and Disposal of Liquid Lime Sludge (Hamid Nikvan, NMB Water Director) |
|
| | | | | | | | Description
| | BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:
| The City of North Miami Beach awarded Contract ITB-20-049-DR, titled “Loading, Haulage and Disposal of Liquid Lime Sludge,” to Prolime Corporation through Resolution R2021-07, with an initial estimated annual expenditure of $478,000, effective from February 4, 2021, for an initial three (3) year term through February 3, 2024, with an option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year term through February 3, 2026.
Due to increased operational demands and the need for consistent removal of liquid lime sludge from the Norwood Water Treatment Plant, the City Commission later approved an increased annual budget of $736,000 via Resolution R2023-79, adopted on September 19, 2023.
The NMB Water Department has since identified a continued and growing need for additional haulage and disposal services to support uninterrupted water treatment processes and regulatory compliance. As such, the Department now requests approval of a revised not to exceed amount of $996,000 annually for services provided by Prolime Corporation under the existing contract. | RECOMMENDATION:
| The Water Director recommend that the City Commission approve and authorize the Interim City Manager, or designee, to approve a change order to the contract with Prolime Corporation. This change order will increase the expenditure by $260,000, thereby increasing the total annual expenditure to the previously approved contract by increasing the expenditure to a not to exceed of $996,000, to support the continued and expanded removal of liquid lime sludge from the Norwood Water Treatment Plant. | FISCAL/ BUDGETARY IMPACT:
| Requesting an increase in the contract by $260,000 as approved in the adopted FY25 budget appropriation. |
