Rexel USA, Inc. (“Rexel”) provides the Norwood Water Plant with essential equipment and services critical to the effective and efficient functioning of the water treatment plant.  These parts and equipment is vital in preventing system failure thereby reducing and/or eliminating disruptions in the water supply.

The City of North Miami Beach is utilizing the Broward County’s Piggyback Contract No. OPN212494B1_5 “Electrical/Electronic Supplies”, effective December 6, 2022, through December 5, 2023, with an option to renew for four (4) additional one (1) year terms through December 5, 2027.  The contract is currently in its second renewal term.

Commission approval was granted on February 20, 2024, via R2024-35 for the purchase of Allen Bradley and Rockwell Automation Equipment from Rexel USA, Inc. in annual budgeted amount of $145,000. The NMB Water Department is requesting an additional $70,000 to cover the cost of additional Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) installations and repairs all of which are vital for the production of water, thereby increasing the total annual expenditure to budgeted amount not to exceed $215,000.

The Water Director recommends that the City Commission approve and authorize the City Manager, or designee, to approve a change order to the contract with Rexel. This change order will increase the expenditure by $70,000, thereby increasing the total annual expenditure to budgeted amount not to exceed $215,000.

Requesting an increase in the contract of $70,000 as approved in the adopted FY25 budget appropriation.
