The purpose of this memorandum is to provide an update on the status of charitable donations, in accordance with the City's policy that stipulates the donation of public funds must promote a valid public purpose directly benefiting the residents and property owners of North Miami Beach. Additionally, donations exceeding $100.00 should be made exclusively to non-profit 501(c) organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible charitable donations as authorized by the Internal Revenue Code.
The attached memorandum provides a list of donations requested by organizations and also specifies planned donations from Mayor and Commission. Please note that all requested organizations have been vetted to ensure they meet the 501(c) non-profit status criteria. Furthermore, these donations align with the City's policy by promoting public purposes that directly benefit our community.
