In accordance with Section 3.20 of the Agreement with Coastal Waste & Recycling (“Agreement”), an annual CPI adjustment shall be effective June 1, 2023, and each subsequent year thereafter. I n consideration of the annual CPI adjustment and the annual Miami Dade County Disposal Fee adjustment effective at the start of each fiscal year, Coastal agrees to change the date of the annual CPI adjustment from June 1st of every year to October 1st of every year to coincide with the Miami -Dade County annual disposal increase. Accordingly, this adjustment will be effective in October 2023.
The attached Addendum No. 2 outlines this change to the Agreement.
The City will communicate the anticipated rate changes to residents prior to the effective date of October 1, 2023, via the City’s website, bill mailers and other marketing initiatives, and will cooperatively work with Coastal to ensure all calculated increases are in accordance with the Agreement, Addendum No. 2, and all subsequent amendments. The new rates are set forth in table 1.1.
Please note:
• The fees in the table do not reflect the Miami-Dade County disposal fee increase as it is not yet published by Miami Dade County. As such, the total annual increase will be reflected upon being published in addition to the annual CPI increase.
• The City’s Solid Waste fees are assessed quarterly, the increase effective October 1, 2023, will be reflected on the January’s billing statement.
• Continued communication efforts will be taken by NMB Water Department to residents and businesses via billing statement inserts and notifications.
