The City of North Miami Beach (“City”) entered into an agreement with Bespoke Construction Management for the “City Hall 2nd Floor Office Renovation Project”, approved by Resolution R2021-108 in the estimated amount of $467,000,
Subsequently a Change Order was approved by Resolution R2022-76 for the installation of an HVAC Air Handler, increasing the contract by $52,338.95; and
WHEREAS, as HR Renovations construction continues it has been determined that several current existing conditions are out of compliance with building codes. It is required to comply with The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), National Electric Code (NEC), National Fire Protection Association Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) in the furnishing of construction work;
Corrective action will be required to take place in order to request and pass final permit inspections as well as receive the certificate of occupancy allowing for utilization of the space; and
The North Miami Beach Public Works Department has requested an increase in purchase authorization of $53,000
Section 3-3.14 of the City Code of Ordinances provides that contracts in excess of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) shall be awarded by the City Commission.
