In keeping with the City of North Miami Beach’s (“City”) Strategic Plan of providing excellent municipal services and being a beautiful, safe and livable community in South Florida, the North Miami Beach Water Department requires laboratory analytical products to include instruments, parts and chemicals used to the analysis of drinking water at the Norwood Treatment Plant.
Broward County, FL issued and awarded Contract No. OPN2123100Q1_1 “Laboratory Analytical Instruments”, to HACH Company (“HACH”), effective December 27, 2021 for a three-year term ending December 26, 2024.
Section 3-4.3 of the City Code allows for the use of other governmental entities’ contracts upon a determination that the supplies, materials, equipment or contractual services needed by the City were purchased using solicitation procedures which are substantially equivalent to the City’s Purchasing Guidelines.
Under the City Manager’s authority, $51,000 was allocated to HACH for the purchase of laboratory analytical products utilizing the Broward County Agreement .
The North Miami Beach Water Department has requested an increase in purchase authorization.
Section 3-3.14 of the City Code of Ordinances provides that contracts in excess of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) shall be awarded by the City Commission.
