| | BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:
| The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) has announced the availability of the Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant funds from the U.S. Department of Justice. The purpose of the VOCA grant is to support the provision of services to victims of crime. Services are defined as those efforts that respond to the emotional and physical needs of crime victims, assist victims of crime to stabilize their lives after victimization, assist victims to understand and participate in the criminal justice system, and provide victims of crime with a measure of safety and security. In an effort to continue to provide the aforementioned services to the citizens of North Miami Beach, and continue to partner with the OAG. | RECOMMENDATION:
| Approval as written. | FISCAL/ BUDGETARY IMPACT:
| This grant will reimburse the City 75% of salary and benefits for our current Victim Advocate. The City will be required to match the remaining 25% of salary and benefits. |
