| | BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:
| The City of North Miami Beach (“City”) and KCI Technologies Inc., formerly Keith and Schnars, P.A. (“KCI”) entered into an agreement for Washington Park Design Services to include design drawings, construction documents, landscape and parking improvements designs in an estimated expenditure of $735,000 approved by City Commission on February 19, 2019 by Resolution No. R2019-12. In keeping with the City’s Strategic Plan’s mission to provide a Great Place to Live: Beautiful, Safe and livable enhancements to original design criteria have been categorized as Safety and Security, Environmental Enhancements, And Community Impact. The design criteria enhancements will encourage and facilitate increased community engagement with access to several amenities including: an expanded banquet hall, library, ADA accessible playground, expanded pool, campus-wide Wi-Fi, and memory paver program. Through the guidelines set forth by the Florida Green Building Coalition, the appropriate criteria and application will be developed to meet environmental standards required to be certified as a green facility. | RECOMMENDATION:
| To approve and ratify the contract change order, thereby amending the Agreement between the City and KCI Technologies Inc., to provide enhancements to the design criteria and a total amended amount not to exceed $1,104,696. | FISCAL/ BUDGETARY IMPACT:
| Increases the current Washington Park Design Services Agreement by an additional $369,696. |
