BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:

In keeping with the City of North Miami Beach's ("City") Strategic Plan of providing excellent municipal services and being a beautiful safe and livable community in South Florida, the Public Works Facilities Management Division facilitates the repair and maintenance of all automatic doors and gates at all Citywide facilities.

The City of Miami Beach issued and awarded Invitation to Bid 2018-028-ND for "Door Related Repair, Replacement and Preventative Maintenance" ITB to AAA Automated Door Repair, Inc., (AAA) for a three-year term, with 2 one-year options to renew, effective November 6, 2018, and a final renewal year through November 5, 2023.

WHEREAS, Section 3-4.3 of the City Code allows for the use of other governmental entities' contracts upon a determination that the supplies, materials, equipment or contractual services needed by the City were purchased using solicitation procedures which are substantially equivalent to the City's Purchasing Guidelines.

Under the City Manager's authority, an annual expenditure of $50,000 was allocated to AAA Automated Door Repair, Inc. The North Miami Beach Public Works Department has requested an increase in purchase authorization for the repair and maintenance of all automated doors and gates located at all Citywide facilities.
