| | BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:
| The Information Technology Department provides support to all City departments through the coordination and application of computer and communication technologies and is responsible for all technical projects, equipment and services for the City including computer hardware and software procurements and contracts administration, evaluation, design, development, training and implementation. The Department is also responsible for administering the City’s telephone systems/services, Public Utilities radio network and the City’s Public Access channel (Channel 77).
In order to support its responsibilities, the Information Department has identified a need to utilize piggybackable contracts to purchase Information Technology hardware, software, maintenance, along with maintenance and software licenses for the FY 2022-23 and beyond. | RECOMMENDATION:
| Pursuant to Section 3-4.3 of the City Code of Ordinances, allows for the use of other governmental entities’ contracts upon determination that the supplies, materials, equipment or contractual services needed by the City were purchased using solicitation procedures which are substantially equivalent to the City’s Purchasing Guidelines. | FISCAL/ BUDGETARY IMPACT:
