| | BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:
| The City has taken a proactive approach to seek and identify funding sources to achieve goals and objectives of the strategic plan and the parks master plan as a vision of making the city more beautiful, safer, and livable. As part of that effort the City applied for a Florida Department of Environmental Protection Land and Water Conservation Fund grant for improvements to Washington Park Community Center playground.
The park improvements specified within the grant are to install a new ADA ramped playground, poured in place safety surfacing, swings and shade. The new playground construction will be part of the overall Washington Park Community Center and Park construction project. | RECOMMENDATION:
| Authorize the City Manager or designee to accept the matching grant award in the amount of $200,000 form the Florida Department of Environmental Protection Land and Water Conservation Fund. | FISCAL/ BUDGETARY IMPACT:
| $200,000 - This amount was approved by the City Commission in the overall Capital Improvements Project budget for the Washington Park Community Center and Park construction project. |
