 RE: Resolution No. R2022-108 Change Order for Elevator Maintenance Services from Thyssenkrupp Elevator (David Scott, Public Works Director)


Description
 
BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:


 

In keeping with the City of North Miami Beach’s (“City”) Strategic Plan of providing excellent municipal services and a being beautiful, safe and livable community in South Florida, it is our mission to provide safe facilities for optimal utilization for residents and staff on a daily basis.

                                      

The City has solicited the services of Thyssenkrupp Elevator (TK Elevator), for comprehensive elevator equipment and services to include mandatory inspections and repairs to maintain consistent local and state compliance and operability throughout the City. Region 14 Education Service Center (Region 14 ESC), acting as the lead agency NCPA issued Request For Proposal No. 36-20 for Elevator Equipment, Service, Repair and Related Services for use by Region 14 ESC and other public agencies. This RFP was issued on behalf of the NCPA through a public agency clause, which provides that any county, city, special district, local government, school district, private K-12 school, higher education institution, state, other government agency, healthcare organization or nonprofit organization may purchase Products and Services through this contract; and On December 8, 2020, Region 14 ESC awarded Contract No. 02-99 to TK Elevator for a one-year period with four additional one-year options to renew; On September 1, 2021, Region 14 ESC and TK Elevator exercised the second option to renew of Contract No. 02-99 to expire December 31, 2022. 

 

Section 3-4.3 of the City Code allows for the use of other governmental entities’ contracts upon a determination that the supplies, materials, equipment or contractual services needed by the City were purchased using solicitation procedures which are substantially equivalent to the City’s Purchasing Guidelines.

 RECOMMENDATION:


 The City Manager, the Public Works Director and the Chief Procurement Officer recommend that the City Commission approve and authorize the City Manager or designee to enter into an agreement with TK Elevator for the purchase of for comprehensive elevator equipment and services for all City facilities in an estimated budgeted amount of $120,000.
