| | BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:
| The City of North Miami Beach (“City”) and United States Service Industries, Inc (USSI) entered into an agreement for janitorial services to be provided to North Miami Beach Water (“NMB Water”) in an amount not to exceed $48,528, for a six (6) month term via City Manager approval. Resolution No. R2021-106 approved by the City Commission at its October 19, 2021 meeting, authorized a change order in the amount of $62,868.00 thereby increasing the agreement value to $111,396.00.
NMB Water continues to utilize USSI for its janitorial services requirements to maintain the health, safety and maintenance of five (5) NMB Water facilities through December 31, 2022. The Procurement Management Department is in the process of issuing a competitive solicitation for City wide janitorial services wherein NMB Water will be included in the service locations.
This change order increases the current Janitorial Services Agreement by an additional $75,000 for services through the end of the calendar year. Section 3-3.20 Change Orders of the City’s Code of Ordinance requires that change orders exceeding 10% or $50,000.00, whichever is less, shall be approved by the City Commission. | RECOMMENDATION:
| The City Manager conducted his own due diligence and concurs with the recommendation of the North Miami Beach Water Department Director and the Chief Procurement Officer to approve a change order in the amount of $75,000.00, as a result, increasing the revised amount to $186,396.00 | FISCAL/ BUDGETARY IMPACT:
