In keeping with the City of North Miami Beach’s (“City”) Strategic Plan of providing a safe environment for residents and visitors to the City, and being fiscally responsible, it is NMB Wastewater mission to maintain operations by preventing emergency situations resulting from equipment failure or severe weather natural disasters.
NMB Water operates a Afton Floridan Well Pump and Motor at the water plant for the RO treatment system. This is essential equipment pumps water from the underground well into a storage tank where the first state of water treatment begins. Ability to maintain daily operations without disruption is a critical and an absolute necessity for public health and safety.
The City has solicited the assistance of Afton Pumps, Inc. (“AFTON”) for the purchase of Model VST 10x12-3 Pump (“Pump”).
Section 3-4.5 of the City’s Code of Ordinances provides that purchases of the following materials and services shall be exempt from the bidding process and subject to the spending limitations provided in subsection 3-3.14, a. Sole source purchases. Sole-source supplies and services, such as unique, patented, or franchised supplies or services, are exempt if the Purchasing Agent determines, after conducting a good faith review of available sources, that the particular supply or service is available from only one (1) source.
Section 3-3.14 of the City’s Code of Ordinances provides that contracts in excess of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) shall be awarded by the City Commission.
