 RE: Resolution No. R2022-58 Approving an Agreement with Shaw Industries for Flooring Materials with Related Supplies and Services (Phillip Ford, Chief Procurement Officer)


Description
 
BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:


 

Sourcewell Cooperative Purchasing Group issued sealed RFP#080819 for Flooring Materials, with Related Supplies and Services. Shaw Industries was awarded a contract effective October 11, 2019 through October 11, 2023.

 

Shaw provides a myriad of flooring types through manufacturing operations and integrated supply chain deliver a broad array of products to meet diverse needs across residential and commercial markets throughout the world.

 

Section 3-4.3 of the City’s Code of Ordinances allows for the use of other governmental entities’ contracts upon a determination that the supplies, materials, equipment or contractual services needed by the City were purchased using solicitation procedures which are substantially equivalent to the City’s Purchasing Guidelines.

 RECOMMENDATION:


 

Given the above, the City Manager is requesting approval to authorize the City Manager to issue purchase orders to Shaw Industries in an not-to-exceed amount of $105,000 through through October 11, 2023.  

 

In keeping with the City’s strategic plan to ensure a high performing City organization, it is our mission to provide safe and aesthetically pleasing facilities for optimal utilization for residents and staff on a daily basis.  The City’s Capital Improvement Project (CIP) initiative has aggressive plans to accomplish this.

 

To successfully accomplish this, the City has solicited the assistance of Shaw Industries for the purchase of carpet and installation services at various City facilities.
