Description

BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:

In line with the City of North Miami Beach’s (“City”) Strategic Plan of providing excellent municipal services and a high performing City organization providing exceptional water quality, Public Utilities Department (“NMB Water”) provides water service within the City of North Miami Beach, Aventura, Miami Gardens, Sunny Isles Beach and parts of unincorporated Miami-Dade County.

NMB Water requires a contractor for the installation of approximately 1,200 linear feet of 6-inch C900 PVC force main, including but not limited to all pipe, fittings, valves and appurtenances necessary for this new segment of force main which runs along NW 9th Avenue from Cravero PS 9 valve box to the intersection of NW 9th Avenue and 175th Street where it ties into an existing 10-inch DIP force main that discharges into the gravity interceptor running west along NW 175th Street.

The City issued Invitation to Bid No. ITB-21-046-MC - Cravero Pump Station Force Main Replacement (SEWR2004).

ITB notices were electronically mailed to over 5,000 potential, local and national suppliers as well as advertised on the City’s website. On January 27, 2022, six (6) bids were received by the City and administratively reviewed.

The NMB Water Department and the Procurement Department reviewed the apparent lowest responsive and responsible bid from Restate Construction, LLC and recommends the award in an amount up to $338,855.

Section 3-3.14 of the City’s Code of Ordinances provides that contracts in excess of Fifty Thousand Dollars ($50,000.00) shall be awarded by the City Commission based on recommendation of the City Manager.
