| | | | | | | | RE: | Resolution No. R2022-02 Procurement of New Police Vehicles (Richard Rand, Chief of Police) |
|
| | | | | | | | Description
| | BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:
| In line with the Strategic Plan of the City of North Miami Beach (“City”) of providing excellent municipal services and being a beautiful, safe, and livable community in South Florida, the City requires the procurement of new police vehicles. The goal for this purchase is the continuation to upgrade the fleet at the North Miami Beach Police Department (NMBPD). Police vehicles should be safe, durable, and reliable. If approved, this request will benefit the NMBPD personnel, as well as the citizens.
Until 2015, the NMBPD fleet was aging and in desperate need of upgrading. The plan is to continue to upgrade the NMBPD fleet, which has come a long way over the past 7 years (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022); however, there is still room for improvement. It is my recommendation that we use Bartow Ford, piggybacking off the Charlotte County Contract (Contract), for the purchase of these vehicles. Over the past few years, we have had an excellent working relationship with this vendor and are highly satisfied with the product and service they provide to the NMBPD. | RECOMMENDATION:
| Approval as written. | FISCAL/ BUDGETARY IMPACT:
| The funds in the amount of $349,702.76 will be paid from the Captial Improvement Fund |
