In keeping with the City's strategic plan goal to be a high performing city organization, it is our mission to provide quality services, maintaining efficiency, productivity and integrity throughout the City, industrial supplies and equipment is required to maintain operational readiness.
To maintain functionality and efficiency throughout the City, NMB Water must ensure that facilities are properly maintained. Additionally, parts, supplies and materials must be on hand for routine maintenance and unforeseen issues. W.W. Grainger provides facilities maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) and industrial supplies and equipment, including, but not limited to, janitorial and cleaning supplies and equipment; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) supplies; plumbing and electrical supplies; hand-held and power tools; and security and safety supplies and equipment.
The State of Florida has established an alternate source contract for Facilities Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) and Industrial Supplies, Contract Number 31160000-20-NASPO-ACS. W.W. Grainger (“Grainger”) was awarded for three (3) years, effective July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2023.
Section 3-4.3 of the City's Code of Ordinances allows for the use of other governmental entities' contracts upon a determination that the supplies, materials, equipment or contractual services need by the City were purchased using solicitation procedures which are substantially equivalent to the City's Purchasing Guidelines.
The expenditure for industrial parts, supplies and materials as needed for NMB Water is estimated at $150,000 per year.
Section 3-3.14 of the City's Code of Ordinances provides that contracts in excess of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) shall be awarded by the City Commission.
