Description

BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:

The City of North Miami Beach has a Solid Waste Management Program which is crucial to the health, safety and welfare of the City and her residents

To continue to provide for the effective operation, maintenance and improvement of the City’s Solid Waste Management system, a rate increase is required to address the new contract for services.

The new rates are outlined in Exhibit A (attached).

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of the new rates for solid waste collection and disposal services.

FISCAL/ BUDGETARY IMPACT:

The new rates will provide additional revenues of approximately $4.5 million which is necessary to address the budget shortfall created by the new contract.
