| | BACKGROUND ANALYSIS:
| The purpose of this memorandum is to respectfully request that the placement of the attached appropriation request totaling in the amount of $795,000 for expenditure from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund accounts on the agenda for the City Commission meeting to be held on Tuesday, December 15, 2020. The Police Department is expected to request $645,000 from the Federal Justice Law Enforcement Trust Fund (Fund 172), and $150,000 from the State/Local Law Enforcement Trust Fund (Fund 173).
As Chief of Police, I certify that to the best of my knowledge, the items requested below are in compliance with applicable Federal Guidelines and Florida State Statute Chapter 932.7055, Subsection 4, regarding the disposition of lien, seized, and forfeited property. | RECOMMENDATION:
| It is respectfully requested that the funding requests be approved for the expenditures described in the attached document. | FISCAL/ BUDGETARY IMPACT:
| The request will not affect the City's General Fund, but will reduce the available balance in each corresponding Law Enforcement Trust Fund. |
