The purpose of this memorandum is to respectfully request your placement of the attached appropriation request totaling in the amount of $746,000 for expenditure from the Law Enforcement Trust Fund (LETF) accounts on the agenda for the City Commission meeting that will be held on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. The Police Department is expected to request $680,000 from the Federal Justice Law Enforcement Trust Fund (Fund 172), and $66,000 from the State Law Enforcement Trust Fund (Fund 173).
As Chief of Police, I certify to the best of my knowledge that the items requested below are in compliance with the applicable Federal Guidelines (Guide to Equitable Sharing for State and Local Law Enforcement Agencies) and Florida Statute Chapter 932.7055, Subsection 4, regarding the disposition of liens and forfeited property.
