Our website is a key tool to providing our citizens with the information they want and need about what is happening in our community. As we continue on the Mission of being a government that provides excellent municipal services in a financially responsible and environmentally conscious manner, while engaging our residents; the City needs a new website that is representative of a City on the Rise. A new website redesign that will incorporate a blend of functionality, ease of use, and heightened citizen engagement.
The last update to the official website of the City of North Miami Beach was done over 7 years ago through GovOffice. GovOffice essentially provides the City with a website template in which sections can be updated by assigned users. The template does not offer any state-of-the-art functions. Updates on our current website are limited from a design perspective and assigned users can easily erode the look and feel of the site. Keeping content updated has proved to be a challenge as well. Last year, City staff thoroughly reviewed the entire website and determined that it is in need of an update, since it has remained essentially unchanged since its inception. After viewing the websites of other municipalities, it was determined that changes were needed for the City’s website to be more user-friendly and effective for our citizens.
The proposal to completely overhaul the City's website and rebuild it with state-of-the-art technology is directly aligned with the Mission of the City and the Commission's priority of effective and enhanced communication. With an interactive website redesign, Municipal services, communication and community participation will be taken to a new level, and new opportunities to conduct business online reduces our community's impact on the environment. The website redesign addresses the goals of the Strategic Plan by providing our residents with a High Performing City Organization and Great Customer Services in the digital realm.
In line with the North Miami Beach Strategic Plan’s mission of providing excellent municipal services and being financially responsible, the City identifies contracts competitively solicited and awarded by other governmental agencies as favorable procurement method.
