The Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), with assistance from the Florida Highway Beautification Council (HBC), annually offers HBC grants to Florida municipalities for the beautification of state roads. The City of North Miami Beach wishes to apply for an HBC grant for the maximum amount of $100,000 for median landscape restoration and upgrades to the westernmost portion SR826, one of the city’s primary and most well-traveled entry points. The required 50 percent match has been requested in the FY17 proposed budget. Receipt of this grant and the subsequent project supports the city’s Strategic Plan Goals of The Place to Live: Beautiful, Safe and Livable; Revitalized Downtown and Major Corridors; and Financially Sound City Government. FDOT requires a council resolution authorizing the application and acceptance of the grant and committing to the 50 percent match. |
